In Person
My name is Annie Redd, and I am a Washington native and provide services in Northeast King and Snohomish Counties. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing counseling support to children, teens, adults, couples and families. My office is in downtown Monroe on Blakeley Street.
Holistic well-being
My approach is based on helping individuals and families see how everything is in relationship with each other.
Being a Systemic Therapist,
I view individuals, marriages, families, extended family, and the community as all connected together in some way.
I also use mainstream counseling techniques such as Collaborative Problem Solving,
Lifespan Integration, systems communication, self awareness and social skills, and behavioral/cognitive/motivational techniques to help you achieve your goals.
Because I have a background in Education I also work closely with family and the journey they have during this life cycle.
Services offered
Counseling
Therapy is a chance to make a difference in your life, your child's life, or the whole family to work on unresolved problems that keep coming up.
I often see individuals having issues with anxiety and/or depression, stress management, relationship problems, self-esteem and problems balancing work/life. Self discovery, finding coping skills, managing emotions, are just a few treatment goals that we would focus on.
For marriage and family therapy sessions, issues like conflict, communication breakdown, intimacy, power/control battles, boundary setting, and dealing with outside pressure driving the family apart. Conflict resolution, family of origin/generational work, and family system theory are powerful interventions.
Clients suffering from PTSD, phobias, personality disorders, I often use the Lifespan Integration techniques that reintegrate the body and mind. This technique was developed by Peggy Pace and has amazing results.
Clients who have special needs including ADHD, spectrum, social and self reflection challenges; I provide the developmentally appropriate levels of communication during therapy and try to address any family/environmental stresses.
It is very important to establish the relationship of trust between client and therapist. My office is set up to provide a comfortable space, to calm nerves and allow deep felt issues to be voiced and worked out within a confidential space. Depending on the client's needs sessions may include the individual, the couple, the parent/child, or the whole family. Each person has unique needs, wants and perspectives.
I am a life long learner and advocate for thinking out of the box. I have found addressing a problem through the back door can open up so many opportunities and possibilities that were never thought of before.
Exploring the core self;
the connections made within relationships;
finding the passion that drives every individual;
and flourishing to the point of influence; is my dedication to the change that maybe You want to see.
Every individual has a purpose in life and they in turn effect the individuals around them.
Throw your pebble in the water and see the rippling effect you have on others.
Consulting
Consulting services, Community Care Classes and Support Groups are based on my background in Systems Therapy, Special Education, behavioral management skills, and human development. Community Care Classes and Support groups are posted in the Class section of this website for an active calendar and registration option.
I offer consultation by appointment to the community, families, centers, and agencies in the following areas: analyzing functional and daily performance levels; organizing environmental surroundings; and supporting agencies with special populations. Evaluating what is in place already and enhancing it to work move efficiently by adding resources from the community. The individual needs of the child, adolescent or adult will be the focus of the consultation.
My experience in both public and private organizations has provided me with many resource. I have enjoyed many opportunities to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, collaborate with community agencies, and analyze the system of education. These experiences have allowed me to find a missing link, a need not being filled. I found that families with members with special needs or a diverse family structure were feeling alone and unsupported. Schools provide what they can for the small amount of time they have the student, but the child, adolescent, and parents once they are home may feel depressed and frustrated. The family as a system starts to feel stressed.
Where is the scaffolding to support these families through the missed milestones, transitions, social rejections, stressful home life, and disintegrating marriages?
My answer to this is to provide support and focus on family preservation; decreasing stress; establishing collaborative care between home and school; supporting transitions for families with special needs and diversity; and encourage proactive living.
FAQ
Q: What kind of people do you tend to work with?
Most of the people I see are just every day people that live in our community. They are people who are experiencing some trouble in their lives (anxiety, depression, life evaluations, social challenges, communication difficulties) or feel ready to move beyond some past issue or limitation to create a more fulfilling life. I work with children, adolescences, men, woman, couples and families.
Q: What are your office hours?
I have office hours Monday - Wednesday starting as early as 9am, and the last session of the day starting at 5pm. All sessions are by appointment.
Community Care Classes and Support Groups are offered occasionally (See Class section of website): parenting, marriage, general issues.
Q: How often do you see your clients?
I prefer to set up a weekly appointment time to start with to provide some momentum for the therapy. After the client and therapist has set goals and strategies, a schedule can be set up and adjusted.
Q: What is your fee?
My fees: I charge $120 per 50 minute session. The first session/ intake is 80 minutes therefore $180. Occasionally the session may include Life Span Integration and extend over the 50 minute session, so an additional fee may be added proportionally to the time needed.
For all sessions: Payment is due at time of service. Credit/debit, check or cash accepted. Health Saving Account (HSA) cards taken as well.
Q: Do you take insurance?
I do process most insurance plans through my Billing Service for your reimbursement, payment is still due at time of service. I am an Out-of-Network license therapist or outpatient therapist.
